Wisdom is not a cool word. Definitely not as sexy as fame, status or luxury. Nobody is going after it. No one hustles hard and takes the risk to get some. People think that it is for some old folks with beards. Now I need to make ends meet and if I am lucky - become a millionaire under 30. Or some other culturally constructed imaginary boundary of an age, when you are supposed to have it all together. Finance, relationships, fame, you name it. Then maybe some of this philosophy stuff can be considered. MAYBE. However, this ostensibly boring and outdated trait is absolutely vital as it binds everything you think, do and are within your life. Ok, so…wisdom. What about it?
I would not lie to you. In order to get what you want, wisdom is not the most important trait. Grit, perseverance, ruthlessness, seduction, and sheer power are way more effective tools in acquiring things. But the world is very dynamic. Even if you will get things done, you won’t keep them very long without wisdom. And make a lot of bad karma along the way, which will eventually get back at you. There are countless examples of such stories. Take all the gangsters. They seem to have it all from a young age. Money, power, women. Remember the movie Scarface? Then you know that the order of these words is no coincidence. But how does it all end? Exactly. In the red swimming pool. But wait. Say hello to my little friend. No, not the machine gun. A better one.
Yes, wisdom is exactly that. Little friend that you carry everywhere you go. The ability or result of an ability to think and act utilizing knowledge, experience, understanding, common sense, and insight. This is how the word wisdom is defined. When you know what in life is real and has substantial value, you are not falling for a show. You see into people through the microexpressions they show their true feelings. You do not allow them to work on your insecurities, because you did that job by yourself way before they had an attempt. You are so resilient, that others leech on to you for guidance when they are having a hard time. When shit hits the fan, you keep your balance and turn misfortunes into virtues. You bend your mind and align with reality in such a way that it makes you grow, gather strength and find meaning in places where others find obstacles and pitfalls.
Most like to think that all the power is in the outer world. If only I had this ability, I would be able to achieve this. If only I had these resources, that wouldn’t be a problem. If only I would be that self-confident, strong or attractive, I would be able to make it. Guess what? Everyone would make it with all of these goods, you won't be any different. If the latter were true, the world would be stagnant. Only the resourceful ones would win. However, people do it with less all the time. Against all odds. Because they are wise enough to find power and leverage situations in ways that others can’t.
Since wisdom is a great ally in your journey, do not expect to be praised for being wise. It is not followed by fireworks and applause. People tend to see the visible - materiality, success, fame. It shines bright and is self-evident to everyone. But there is another hidden world beneath the glow. The real back-end architecture behind the obvious. When you are wise and make great decisions, you know it. When you make a sacrifice for something and it works, you remember it. This brings a deep sense of self-confidence, joy, freedom and safety. All the intangible assets. The currency behind the material.
You don’t have to be old to be wise. Nor the long beard is needed. You can do it at any time of your life and it will benefit you immensely. Try things, fail or succeed and earn lessons. Hang out with people who are wise. They are not easy to find, but when you will discover one, you will know. Read and talk about what you read with others. But do not solely rely on reading, life is meant to be experienced, not fantasized about. Don’t take the opinions of others as a fact. Always filter ideas throughout your own experience. And use your inner voice. Often.
Don’t take the opinions of others as a fact. Always filter ideas throughout your own experience. ⬅️ This sentiment runs both ways! 🫶🫰✌️👍🙏😊
Try things, get experience, fail, get confidence, get wisdom.
A great blueprint to live by.
